This morning was one of those mornings when you wake up and you can feel how sunny it is before you even draw the curtains. I wanted to escape the to-do list and just go and draw somewhere, so I packed a bag of sketching stuff and waddled (in my 8.5 month pregnant state) up the hill to the park. The view I love overlooks Bramley Baths and you can see all the way to Horsforth and even Cookridge on a clear day like today. Before I left the studio I've been working in for maternity leave I had one last practise at bookbinding and made myself a sketchbook (Of Dreams) using the beautiful Somerset range of papers. Turns out they are an absolute joy for watercolour sketches. I enjoyed myself so much that I lost track of time and absolutely froze - as a result I am typing this with a hot water bottle under my feet to recover. Worth it!
